Shen Yun’s 2022 Season Wraps Up After Two Years in the Making

With Shen Yun’s 2020 performance season cut short by the pandemic, our performers couldn’t wait to get out in front of audiences again. We started months earlier than our usual winter departure, venturing out in the summer of 2021. As more regions opened up in the U.S., we grew increasingly busy through the winter, and soon even international plans fell into place.

When all was said and done, the 2021-2022 tour covered Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Initially not knowing how long tour would last, or how safe each region would stay, our performers cherished every chance to visit a city and take the stage. We knew many audience members had been patiently holding onto their Shen Yun tickets since 2020.

We experienced all seasons, from wintry Canada to the warm Mediterranean and sun-drenched Texas in summer. We performed at beach-level in Honolulu and high elevation in Mexico City. We cooperated with waves of ever-changing regulations in the variety of theaters and locales, and we stayed show-ready while undergoing lengthy international quarantines. This “season” also brought for the first time, a full month in both Italy and Germany, and a tour that lasted well-past our usual May finish all the way to mid-July.

We are happy to report that all our dancers, musicians, and crew returned home safe and healthy to a well-earned break. Most importantly, we feel fulfilled to have brought joy and inspiration to millions of people around the world. Spanning just about a year, this tour was truly epic!

And now, in the months to come, we will be busy developing an entirely new program, as the 2023 tour is just around the corner—so stay tuned!
